In 1988 American gas chamber specialist Fred A. Leuchter, Jr., carried out the first ever on-site, forensic examination of the alleged “gas chamber” facilities at the sites in Poland of the fomer German concentration camps of Auschwitz, Birkenau and Majdanek.
